DAY 1: ARRIVAL AT BAMAKO
Line flight. Transfer and overnight staying at the hotel.
DAY 2: BAMAKO - SÉGOU (235 Km)
In the morning city sight of Bamako with its interesting colonial buildings and
its exciting colourful markets which are some of the most typical markets of the
whole West Africa.
Visit of the museum and walk in the market to enjoy atmospheres, colours, sounds
and peculiarities.
Lunch and departure to Ségou. During the transfer visit to the village of
Segoukoro, that is built along the shores of Niger river and that has preserved
its beauty through the centuries. Not by chance Bambaras emperors chose it for
long periods for their residence.
Overnight staying at the hotel.
DAY 3: SÉGOU - MOPTI (420 Km)
In the morning departure to Mopti going through a landscape characterised by
huge baobabs and thorny bushes. Small breaks during the trip to visit San mosque,
to enjoy the life and the typical architectures of some Bambara and Bobo
villages.
Arrival in the mid-afternoon and excursion on a typical local motor boat called
"pinassa" along the Niger river that winds stately offering amazing views and
panoramas: all the pirogues crowded with people and goods, all the villages of
Bozo fishermen and Peul breeders.

DAY 4: MOPTI - DJENNÉ - MOPTI (260Km)
In the morning departure to the weekly market of Djenné, that extends itself on
the shadow of the great mosque. The market visit represents an unforgettable
experience since it brings us back to the past and it is a perfect moment to
meet all the ethnic groups which live in the Niger valley.
During the whole day you will see the cottages built with straw and mud, the
volume, the decorations and the colours of the so called Sudanese architecture.
In the evening return to Mopti. Overnight staying at the hotel.
DAY 5: MOPTI
Morning focused on Mopti city sight, know also as "Venice of Mali". Its striking
river port, coasted by its many Sudanese buildings, will remind us of the
glorious Mandingo empires, who were clever salesmen between Tombuctù and Djenné.
Visit to the old district of Taikiri, visit to the market of Sougouni and to the
small laboratories where people build pirogues.
In the afternoon visit to the handicraft market and break in a typical Bozo cafe
with its beautiful view on the port.
Overnight staying at the hotel.
DAY 6: MOPTI - DOGON VILLAGE (130 Km)
In the morning departure to Dogon village. Visit to the village of Songo and its
rocky paintings that represent mythological images and symbols.
In the afternoon visit to the village of Djiguibombo.
Overnight staying at the hotel.
DAY 7: DOGON VILLAGE - MOPTI (170 Km)
In the early afternoon visit to the huge cliff of Bandiagara.
During the day little excursion on foot with breaks in some villages perfectly
harmonised with the surrounding environment. We can admire the great qualities
of Dogon people that correspond to amazing and fascinating artistic expressions:
masks, ritual figures and doors engraved in the wood.
In the afternoon departure to Mopti. Overnight staying at the hotel.
DAY 8: MOPTI - BOBO / BURKINA FASO (475 Km)
Departure in the morning.
During the trip visit to the Mossi and Bobo villages. As soon as the custom
controls are completed, we will reach Bobo Dioulasso which is the city of the
music of the West Africa with its characteristic avenues full of trees.
Overnight staying at the hotel.
DAY 9: BOBO - BANFORA (85 Km)
In the morning visit to the old district if Faraka, to the mosque of Dioulasoba,
to the market of the craftsmen at work.
After the lunch departure to Banfora; during the transfer visit to the typical
villages of this area and to the amazing mountains of Dome, that have been
smoothly shaped by the wind.
DAY 10: BANFORA - LOBI VILLAGE - BANFORA (400 Km)
In the early morning departure to the Lobi region where people live in villages
with a striking architecture.
Visit to Gan village, to Sukala (Lobi fortified houses who were gold diggers).
Lunch and visit to the ethnic museum of Gaoua and to the market of Loropeni.
In the evening return to Banfora. Overnight staying at the hotel.
DAY 11: BANFORA - SIKASSO (186 Km)
Departure to Senufo region. During the transfer visit to several villages
characterised by building with their rounded peculiar shape and visit to a green
tea manufacturing company.
In the afternoon visit to the holy rocks of Misirikoro.
Overnight staying at the hotel.
DAY 12: SIKASSO - BAMAKO (397 Km)
Departure to Mali capital. Visit to the village of Senufo blacksmiths. Arrival
in the evening and overnight staying at the hotel.
DAY 13: BAMAKO - DEPARTURE
Free day to relax and for shopping. Night transfer to the airport.
